Specimen Requirements
Specimens can be sent to lab in clean, leak proof, tightly sealed containers within one hour or stored at 2-8ºC for up to 24 hours. If sent in ecofix vials, store at room temperature. Wait 7-10 days if patient has received antiparasitic compounds, barium, iron, Kaopectate, metronidazole, Milk of Magnesia, Pepto-bismol, or tetracycline.
